奧克蘭大學（The University of Auckland）為紐西蘭為國際排名領先的研究型大學，也是紐西蘭具最完整專業的綜合型大學，座落於奧克蘭的市中心。其所屬的人文與社會科學學院中，媒體與影像研究系所（Media and Screen Studies）培養學生批判思考與創意表達的能力，橫跨電影、電視、流行音樂、漫畫、遊戲及社群媒體等當代媒介，深入探討它們如何作為文化形式與敘事工具。

學生在此得以從恐怖片、動作片、紀錄片等影像類型中思辨性別、種族與環境正義等重要議題，課程同時強調分析與實作並進。以影像理解世界，透過媒體參與社會，是本系所一以貫之的理念。

The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading research university and its most comprehensive institution, located in the heart of Auckland City. Within its Faculty of Arts, Media and Screen Studies equips students with critical thinking and creative expression skills across a wide range of contemporary media — including film, television, popular music, comics, video games, and social media — exploring how these function as cultural forms and narrative tools.

Students engage with genres such as horror, action, and documentary to examine key issues like gender, race, and environmental justice. The Department emphasizes both analytical and practical approaches, grounded in the belief that we come to understand the world through images, and participate in society through media.
